Facelift

I’ve been wanting to make some changes to our blog for a while now. And, today has been wonderfully, gloriously low-key at work – so I decided to take the time to catch up on things like Friends of Jordan work, and life organization!

I have added some links to things Erin and I love or things that are important to us. Check out the link to Oil of Paicines – this is the farm where Erin has been volunteering.

Also – check out Friends of Jordan. For those of you who haven’t heard me go on and on about this organization…FOJ is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides small grants to Peace Corps Volunteers in Jordan. I used an FOJ grant to fund a summer camp when I was a volunteer, and now I have the privilege of serving on the board.  Especially in the light of the recent, and tragic death of Ambassador Stevens (Morocco RPCV 83-85) raising cross-cultural awareness is an essential element of protecting US missions abroad, as well as a reminder to everyone about the basic humanity of people around the world – and a reminder that small extremist groups can be powerful, but do not represent the people of a nation as a whole.

Some of my students in Jordan crafting at a Friends of Jordan funded camp.

Enjoy the new layout, check out our links – and we’ll be back at the end of the weekend!
