Next Stop: Shanghai!

It’s been a while, and so much has happened since I spent an awesome weekend in my Peace Corps home in Jordan more than two years ago. But, no time for past updates now, we have new adventures to share!

Erin, Evelyn, and I are off on a big new international adventure! I was offered an unexpected, but amazing year-long professional opportunity in Shanghai, China. Yes, you read that right – and yes, it is as crazy as it sounds (Moving across the world with a 6 month!? Who does that!?)

Erin and I have always planned to live overseas at some point during Evelyn’s childhood, as we have both enjoyed the time we’ve spent living abroad. We did not, however, expect this opportunity to present itself now. After much deliberation and consultation with our families and pediatrician, we have decided to not let this opportunity pass.

After a whirlwind few weeks of packing and preparing in DC, we hopped on a plane and headed back to our homes on the West Coast. We have spent an amazing month with our families in California and Washington – Evie has visited the ocean, went hiking in the Redwoods, gone swimming at Granny and Papa Jeff’s, watched the ferries at Edmonds Beach, and spent the day at Woodland Park Zoo with her Auntie Joelle. We love these special memories, and know we will have many, many more!

We will also return to the U.S. for about a week mid-way through the year around Evie’s 1st birthday/Christmas. We’ll keep everyone apprised of these dates and specific plans.

We hope you follow along with us here on our blog!
